Assignment-Level Grades

Log individual quiz and test scores per course and let your grade compute itself, not just a single number you type in at the end of the year.

Most homeschool record-keeping tools stop at a single grade per course, typed in by hand whenever you get around to it. Homeschool Owl goes one level deeper: log individual assignments under a course, a quiz score, a test, a project, each with its own points earned and points possible, and the app computes a running weighted average for you.

When you're ready to lock in a course's final grade, a one-click button converts that computed average into a letter grade and fills it in, though you can always override it by hand if you'd rather set the grade yourself. The transcript and GPA calculation still read from that single final grade, so nothing about how transcripts generate has to change; assignment tracking is an added layer of detail underneath it, not a replacement for it.

  • Log individual assignments per course: name, score, and points possible
  • A running weighted average computes automatically as you add assignments
  • One click converts the computed average into a final letter grade, still editable by hand
